Laser Hair Removal
Laser treatments are a great hair removal alternative that can free you from shaving, plucking, and waxing to give you silky smooth and beautifully bare skin.
How does it work?
To eliminate hair, the laser emits gentle pulses of energy that pass through the skin to the hair follicle. This energy is then absorbed into the hair follicle to destroy it, making it unlikely to grow there again.
Am I a candidate for laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal can be applied to all areas of the body and on all types of skin, even tanned or dark skin.
Does it hurt?
The laser treatment causes only minimal discomfort. Clients often say it feels similar to the snap of a rubber band. Slight redness or localized swelling can occasionally occur, but usually subsides within the first 24 hours after treatment. Clients can purchase EMLA cream, a topical anesthetic which numbs the skin and decreases the sensation of pain.
How many treatments will I need?
There are a number of factors that can affect the success of a series of hair removal treatments, but generally, after each treatment, you'll see a noticeable, permanent reduction in the number of hairs that re-grow in the treatment area. Typically patients will see full results in 4-6 treatments, although this number will vary based upon skin tone, hair color and several other factors. Your laser technician will talk to you about variables that may affect your individual results.
Will my hair ever grow back?
No, once the hair follicle is damaged, it cannot grow new hair. Laser hair removal is permanent.
